What happened to Mother's Day

Oh my god, we missed posting our Mother's Day experience and now Father's Day is here.

Mommy, Daddy and me at O'Lordans, the new Irish restaurant in Westminster, on Daddy's first Father's Day.

And here's the whole gang.

Riley in her pretty dress drinking water from Mommy's straw.

Earlier on Father's Day we got to take Riley to her first Filipino picnic. She definitely had a good time watching the older kids play and even experienced walking bare foot on the grass for the first time, which was much better than falling on her face in public for the first time at cousin Devin's graduation party last weekend. (sorry Riley, but it probably won't be the last time, love Daddy)

A Shot in The Arm

Riley had her first experience with needles today and she did great. She was very PO-ed with everyone holding her down but once the needle actually went in she became quiet and just watched what was going on.

In non-Riley related news I got to take a rare day off from work and head out to Bill's annual golf tournament yesterday. Thanks Bill for a really fun day and happy anniversary.

Carni number 2

Yes carnival number 2 Nothing too exciting, no rides, we did play skee-ball and eat a ton of Carnival food in which Riley took part. This time we were in Mt. Airy not Westminster and it was about 60 degrees instead of 90.

The Mohawk

We definitely like Riley's little mohawk and didn't really think it was that uncommon for babies to have one. But the last couple weeks we've gotten several comments from strangers, mostly while shopping, about how they like her mohawk too. The funniest thing was when we took Riley to the doctors appointment and the nurse commented on her hair also. Erica I guess became curious and asked something to the effect of "Isn't it pretty common for babies to have little mohawks?". This is someone who sees lots of kids come through the office so it shouldn't be that surprising, right. Well, wrong she says Riley is very cute but it's not common at all. I feel like I still disagree they seem pretty common to me.

I can't believe we forgot to mention

First of all Grammy and Granddad came over the past two fridays to hang out with Riley and give Lola Erlinda a hand.

Also over the Memorial Day weekend Riley went to her first parade and carnival. Both of which were sponsored by St. Johns church in Westminster

Watching the parade route

Here's Bug and me getting our tickets ready to ride the merry-go-round.

A Day Out

Today we woke up pretty early (8:30 it's the weekend) and got ready for our friends, Katie and Jeff's wedding. The plan was to be up early...leave the house by 11:00....drop Riles off at Lola's around 12:00 in Westminster....hang out then leave for the wedding at 1:00. That time line would have put us at the wedding with time to spare.
This is what actually happened...left our house at 12:00...dropped the Riley Bug off at Grandmom's in Westminster around 1:00...left for the wedding at 1:30 (wedding started at 2:00 in Baltimore).....got there amazingly close to 2:00, but late, and then tried to find an inconspicuous way into the church. We did manage to see the entire ceremony and not draw to much attention to ourselves. All's well that ends well....I guess.

At the reception

Katie and Erica

After the reception for Katie and Jeff we decided to take advantage of being pretty close to Bill and Susan's for a change and headed over to check out Baby Will. The last time we saw him was his baptism. He was about 2 months old then and didn't do too much of anything. He's now 5 months old so Erica and I were excited to see how he was doing. The only bad part of the trip was Riley didn't get to go. It's amazing to see how fast he has grown and brought back a lot of memories of how Riley was at his age.

Look how surprised Will is too see Uncle J and Auntie E.

Daddy's little guy

Showing off his new found skills

When is it not fun to watch a baby eat?

(when you're the one trying to feed them)

We caught Will on a bad hair day

When you see this look come across an infants

face....bail out and let them get their sleep and

let the parents get some well deserved rest also.

Thanks for letting us drop by on such short notice. We love you and hope to see you guys soon.

Fast Forward

Fast Forword

Riley is now 9 months old and Erica and I decided to join the blog bandwagon. It's really just a way for the two of us to document how the little one is doing and let friends and family see what's happening. I'm sure we'll fill in the gap from day one to 9 months but for now everything starts from today June 1, 2006 the first day of Riley's tenth month. I hope everyone enjoys her journey (and ours). Please feel free to post comments and pass the link to the blog around.
